One of the biggest inhibitors to team trust I find is that incentives in the company are still focused on the individual rather than the team. If we want people to work better together, we need to incentives on that. Creating a sound, surrounding environment for the team can help trust be infused among the members. They we'll see less of the "CYA" stuff that goes on everywhere. Creating that safe environment is the obligation of the management.

Having been in attendance of that meeting, I can say that this is a shining example of how analytics *should* be utilized. Let's see where there's an opportunity we're missing out on and act accordingly... not hide behind numbers as a reason to not try something. I'm glad you did the research, as it will be an extremely fun project to work on once the ball gets rolling, and will serve users very well.

That is some nice looking rocks. Did you weigh the pieces before and after cutting to determine loss %?

Wait until you cut one and find a black inclusion with chondrules scattered throughout.

Never a dull moment with these pieces. Who knew such beauty lie just below the surface of a burnt rock?

Good choice in Ubuntu. If I wasn't such a die-hard Mac person, I'd be using Ubuntu (Kubuntu actually... I like the KDE interface much better). Congrats!

I picked Ubuntu based on reviews and my brother's experience. The reviews discussed ease of use and installation. I plan on getting my wife and kids over to Linux as well so I wanted to find something with a small learning curve. My brother uses it at college with success after using Windows for a while.

Just wondering why you chose Ubuntu over RedHat, Suse or some other Linux variety? I used UNIX for many years before moving reluctantly to Windows. I have to say that each OS has its virtues and problems. My wife's Mac is essentially UNIX at the core. Any time she has a problem, I can drop to a terminal and all those skills from 20 years ago come in handy. Glad you're enjoying the experience with Linux.
