Tatahouine: new meteorite in my inventory

I finally took a step up and purchased my first lot of Tatahouine. This meteorite is the “green meteorite” due to it’s olive green look. This meteorite is a rare achondrite diogenite. Achondrite is a term that means the meteorite is a rock that has crystallized from a molten state. As such, it lacks the chondrules that are common in stony chondrite meteorites.  The term diogenite refers to the fact that this meteorite is from the asteroid 4 Vesta, the second largest object in the asteroid belt.

This asteroid has a whole set of meteorites that are traced back to it. they are called HED meteorites. I like this meteorite not only because of the unique look, but also due to the fact that is traced back to an larger object in our solar system. Next on the list for me are meteorites of lunar or martian origin. Below are some pics of two Tatahouines in my collection now.
